Ngorongoro is one of the most remarkable places in Africa and an essential stop on Tanzania’s Northern safari circuit. Halfway between the incredible parks of Lake Manyara and the Serengeti, Ngorongoro is the highlight of Tanzania’s Crater Highlands. The crater at Ngorongoro feels like a lost world and is like nowhere else in Africa. It’s filled with wildlife and stirring landscapes, and surrounded by the steep and forested crater walls that rise to the rim. From high on that rim, the views are superb, whether in the early morning as the mist rises from the crater depths, or at sunset as another day closes. A day spent down in the crater is a chance to see it up close and is one of the most unforgettable experiences you can have on safari.

A day-to-day itinerary provides a clear and structured overview of your safari, outlining each stage of your journey from arrival to departure. It details daily activities, destinations, and accommodation stays, ensuring you know exactly what to expect at every step.
The journey from Your Lodge in Arusha to Lodoare gate, spanning 160 kilometers, is now easily accessible via a newly constructed tarmac road, reducing travel time to approximately two hours. To enter the Ngorongoro Crater, a 4×4 safari vehicle is indispensable if you opt for the gravel road route rather than the main roads.
Departure from Arusha is scheduled for 6:00am, with the first stop being the Loduare gate for registration. From there, you'll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable tour of this vast natural amphitheater, covering 2590 square kilometers (100 square miles). This unique landscape teems with diverse wildlife, offering opportunities to spot rhinos, elephants, lions, and large herds of zebras and wildebeest. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed on the crater floor. In the afternoon, you'll exit the crater and return to Arusha for an overnight stay, arranged independently.
