Embarking on a Kilimanjaro expedition promises an adventure filled with excitement and unforgettable moments. A day-to-day itinerary provides a clear and structured overview of your safari, outlining each stage of your journey from arrival to departure. It details daily activities, destinations, and accommodation stays, ensuring you know exactly what to expect at every step.

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from Moshi and driven to the Machame Gate (1,800 m / 5,905 ft). Here, you’ll complete the registration formalities before beginning your trek. The trail leads into the lush rainforest, where you’ll stop for lunch along the way before continuing to Machame Camp (3,000 m / 9,842 ft). Dinner and an overnight stay will be provided at camp.

After breakfast at Machame Camp, you’ll begin your ascent through the moorland zone, leaving behind the dense rainforest. After a lunch break on the trail, the path continues upward toward a rocky ridge that opens onto the expansive Shira Plateau. By afternoon, you’ll arrive at the Shira Campsite (3,840 m / 12,598 ft) for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today’s trek takes you across a rugged rocky landscape, steadily climbing toward the impressive Lava Tower (4,550 m / 14,927 ft), where you’ll stop for lunch. Afterward, the trail descends into the lush valley below the towering Barranco Wall, leading to Barranco Camp (3,900 m / 12,795 ft) for dinner and an overnight stay. Along the way, you’ll be treated to dramatic scenery—perfect for capturing stunning photographs.

After spending the night near the Great Barranco Wall, the day begins with a climb over this iconic feature, followed by a descent toward the Heim Glacier. The trail continues across the Karanga Valley before linking up with the Mweka Route. Your destination for the day is Barafu Hut (4,600 m / 15,091 ft), the final staging point before the midnight summit attempt. On arrival, take time to rest, enjoy an early dinner, and prepare your thermal clothing and gear for the challenging ascent ahead.

Summit day begins in the early hours as you make the challenging ascent toward Stella Point (5,735 m / 18,815 ft) on the crater rim. From here, the trail continues along the ridge to the ultimate goal—Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,340 ft), the highest point in Africa. Take time to savor this life-changing achievement, capture photos, and soak in the breathtaking views from the summit.
Afterward, you’ll begin your descent back to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down into the moorland and forest zone. Tonight’s camp is set just above the upper forest, where you’ll have dinner, replenish your water supply, and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

After breakfast, celebrate your achievement with your guides before making the final descent to Mweka Gate (1,650 m / 5,413 ft). Here, you’ll receive your well-earned summit certificates, marking the successful completion of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
