This year-round safari explores Tanzania’s most iconic parks and wildlife spectacles. From December to April, witness the calving season in the southern Serengeti, where wildebeest give birth on the fertile plains. From July to October, experience the dramatic river crossings at the Mara River as over a million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles brave crocodile-infested waters during their annual migration.
A day-to-day itinerary provides a clear and structured overview of your safari, outlining each stage of your journey from arrival to departure. It details daily activities, destinations, and accommodation stays, ensuring you know exactly what to expect at every step.

Upon arrival, Akondo’s staff members will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Once checked in, you will receive a detailed briefing about your upcoming safari. Use this time to relax, settle in, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

After breakfast, meet your driver-guide and begin your journey to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees. The park is home to tree-climbing lions and over 550 bird species, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. The Tarangire River, a lifeline for the animals during the dry season, attracts a rich variety of wildlife, offering incredible game viewing opportunities.
The baobab trees found in Tarangire can live for over a thousand years and store thousands of liters of water in their trunks to survive droughts.

After breakfast, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch for the road. Enjoy a game drive en route as you pass through the stunning landscapes of the Ngorongoro highlands. Serengeti is famed for its massive wildlife populations and the annual Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras move in search of greener pastures.
The word Serengeti comes from the Maasai language meaning “endless plains,” which accurately describes the park’s vast and open savannahs.

Today is dedicated to exploring the heart of Serengeti on a full-day game drive. Follow the trails of the Great Migration as your expert guide shares fascinating insights into animal behaviors, migration patterns, and the park’s ecology. You may spot predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs tracking the herds.
During the peak of the calving season (January to March), over 8,000 wildebeest calves are born each day on the Serengeti plains.

After breakfast, drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and shelters nearly 30,000 animals, including the endangered black rhino. The fertile floor of the crater offers one of the best chances in Africa to see the Big Five in a single day.
The Ngorongoro Crater was formed about 2.5 million years ago from a collapsed volcano, and its enclosed ecosystem has since remained virtually untouched.

After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse reserve nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is known for its lush groundwater forests, hot springs, and pink flamingo-lined shores. Keep an eye out for tree-climbing lions and the vibrant birdlife that thrives in this compact ecosystem.
Lake Manyara is alkaline but supports an incredible biodiversity. It’s part of the flamingo migration route, where thousands of these colorful birds paint the lake pink during certain times of the year.
In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
